David and Patience Mugume

Kampala, Uganda

Meet David and Patience Mugume, dedicated believers with a significant missions ministry in the heart of Uganda. They are integral members of Zana Community Church and have been discipled in and have a strong commitment to reformed theology. With determination tested by more than 13 years of service, the Mugumes are at the forefront of an East African spiritual renewal. They have also been leaders in promoting and effectively managing the Food for Uganda outreach through the Community at Heart ministry to the Boda Boda population in Uganda.

David's (and Patience's) educational journey through African Bible University and the African Business Institute has equipped him with both spiritual insight and wisdom as well as business knowledge and experience. This integral combination has proven essential to the Lord’s leading as they work to bring about change in two areas. First, presenting Christ to the needy people of Kampala, Uganda and even East Africa and secondly but equally as important, planting Confessional Churches to help disciple God's believers.

In addition to his duties on the pastoral team, David manages a growing print and media business together with Patience in the heart of Kampala. This business isn't just another business endeavor but rather it is strategically situated in one of Kampala's famous competitive “Shark” streets. In seeking to be innovators and visionaries, they are not content with spiritual transformation, as good as that would be but they are also active in promoting Christ in the business environment and praying that God will bring life and ethics into the core of commerce.

Their goal and desire is to serve God by rewriting the narrative of faith and business in Kampala. The Mugumes desire to be used by God to be the influencers that their city and nation desperately need. With a strong foundation in reformed theology and a deep-rooted commitment to sound doctrine and to the local church, they desire to be salt and light to Uganda and are praying that this journey will lead to a spiritual awakening as well as a more ethical commerce environment.
